The Vanguard Connect Backpack Strap is a premium, lightweight camera and binocular carrying system designed for photographers, birders, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts who want to keep their equipment secure, comfortable, and easily accessible while on the move. By attaching directly to compatible backpack shoulder straps, this innovative two-strap system transforms your existing backpack into a convenient chest-level carrying solution, eliminating the need for a separate camera or binocular neck strap.
Whether you're hiking a mountain trail, photographing wildlife, exploring a new destination, or spending a full day birdwatching, carrying a camera or binoculars around your neck can become uncomfortable. The Connect Backpack Strap offers a practical alternative by transferring equipment support to your backpack's shoulder straps. Its dual-strap configuration helps stabilize your gear against your chest, reducing unwanted swinging and bouncing as you walk while keeping valuable equipment comfortably within reach.
Designed for versatility, the system features universal attachment clips that connect to compatible D-rings or webbing on your backpack's shoulder straps. Each strap adjusts independently from approximately 16 to 25 inches, allowing you to customize the carrying height and equipment position to suit your backpack, body size, and preferred setup. Durable 25mm (1-inch) polyester twill webbing provides dependable support while maintaining a streamlined profile that integrates naturally with your existing outdoor gear.
Vanguard's Connect Clip quick-release system makes attaching, removing, and switching equipment fast and convenient. Dedicated Connect Tethers remain attached to compatible cameras, binoculars, and other optics, allowing you to connect or disconnect your equipment without repeatedly installing conventional strap hardware. This versatile system makes it easy to transition between photography and glassing, remove your camera for tripod-mounted shooting, or pack away your equipment when it's no longer needed.
Four Connect Tethers are included, providing flexible attachment options for multiple compatible devices. Photographers can prepare different camera bodies in advance, while birders and outdoor enthusiasts can switch between a camera and binoculars using the same backpack-mounted carrying system. With equipment positioned at chest level, you can quickly respond to unexpected wildlife sightings, changing light, or spontaneous photo opportunities without stopping to retrieve gear from your pack.
Weighing approximately 2.5 ounces, the complete Connect Backpack Strap system adds minimal weight to your backpack setup while providing a comfortable alternative to traditional neck and shoulder straps. Its thoughtful design makes it especially useful for long hikes, travel, nature photography, birding excursions, and outdoor adventures where mobility and immediate equipment access are essential.
From backcountry trails and wildlife photography to sightseeing and everyday exploration, the Vanguard Connect Backpack Strap delivers a refined combination of premium materials, adjustable comfort, dependable equipment support, and quick-release convenience. It's an ideal accessory for anyone who already carries a backpack and wants a smarter, more comfortable way to keep cameras and binoculars ready for the next opportunity.
